Derelict Garage 12 June 2007

Recently we have been contacted by several Longfield Road residents concerned that the disused garage situated on Longfield Road is becoming unsafe and generally derelict.

As a result we asked Building Control to investigate the safety of the site. They concluded that although the site is derelict, it does not appear to be dangerous though they will be visiting periodically to confirm this situation does not change. Environmental Health are also investigating the site.

In an atempt to improve the site in the short-term, we have asked the Street Scene team to visit the site in the hope that some of the rubbish could possibly be removed. However longer term we would like to see the site at least improved cosmetically, but ideally be improved and return to use.
